Han Tsutsu-Gata

Out of stock

This wood-fired tea bowl has a slightly flared lip and bamboo-style foot, with a chattered texture that weaves in and out from under the ashy surface. The “Han tsutsu-gata” distinction refers to its half-cylinder form, which we find rather pleasing for light tea liquors: the flattened bottom of the vessel becomes a kind of tableau upon which light and shadow exchange secrets. This one features our “cresting wave” in the well, and three wad-shadows from the firing. Comfortably holds 90ml, though we recommend topping off at 60ml to invite sensibility into your work day. 5.5 x 8.5 x 8.5cm.
