This wood-fired tea bowl has a slightly curved lip and bamboo-style foot, with a variety of “wet-to-dry” surfaces that undulate from rough to glossy, with a chattered texture. The “Komogai” form originated from Korea, and was infused into Japanese ceramic practices around the Momoyama period. This one features a swirl in the well, and a “full moon” mark from the firing. Comfortably holds 90ml, though we recommend topping off at 60ml to model your ability to exercise diplomacy. 5.5 x 8 x 8cm.
